Here are the rules for the tag: Link the person who tagged you (that was Stephanie & Kristin I don't know how to link you, sorry). Mention rules on your blog. Tell about 6 quirks of yours. Tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same.
Here they are, in no particular order...
1. I have to have things symmetrical. This applies to many areas of my life. My hair for instance, my layers have to be equal in thickness, the amount of layers on each side of my head must be the same, and it must be perfectly even along the bottom. I am a hair stylist's nightmare. Also, when Gretchen got her ears pierced I couldn't stop myself from studying one ear, then the other, over and over again to make sure the earrings were perfectly symmetrical.
2. Things have to be done the correct, "by the book" way...I follow recipes with perfect exactness, just how it is written, measuring out each 1/8 of a tsp. When assembling something, I've got the instructions right there. I plant my bulbs by measuring the 6 to 8 in. in the ground with a ruler. It drives me crazy when someone says, "I think I know how to do this" and then they don't do it right.
3. When I hear a new song that I love, and then download it, I listen to it over and over. Then within a few short days I'm sick of it.
4. After I've popped microwave popcorn, I have to take the bag outside to open it. If you open a popped bag inside, all that steam and more importantly the potent smell is released and I feel like it lingers for hours...and I don't like it. It greatly reduces the smell to initially open the bag outside. Mike always rolls his eyes when I do this. When we were just on our trip, and stayed in a hotel, they had a complimentary bag of popcorn and microwave. Mike popped it up and would not let me open it in the hall. That smell drove me crazy.
5. I love Science fiction, this is all thanks to my dad. I don't think most people would peg me as a "sci-fi fan". I like Star Wars (that is such a shame that you have never seen those movies, Stephanie), Star Trek--mostly The Next Generation, Battlestar Galactica, Lord of the Rings, you get the idea. Basically, I'm a huge nerd and I'm so happy that our satellite provider carries the Sci-fi channel.
6. I usually put on one sock, then one shoe, the other sock, then the other shoe. Not two socks, then two shoes. I don't think I necessarily have to do it this way, it's just the way I do it.

I loved learning more about your little quirks! :) How fun. I am the same way about bacon as you are with popcorn. I HATE the lingering smell!!! I am kind of a smells person.
I love your quirks! I had never thought to put on one shoe then one sock...I'm a two and two person. I also have to follow recipe's to the exact measurement. My SIL once said to me "Maybe that's why your cookies taste so good!" I thought, "ya think?" Thanks for sharing!
I never know you were so quirky! I loved reading these. Maybe if I get my ruler out and follow directions so carefully my yard will look like yours someday!
I loved reading this. I am a little OCD and a bit of a perfectionist but not when it comes to cooking. I would drive you insane.

That is so interesting! The shoe thing... the popcorn thing. I would never have guessed. Your pantry, by the way is very impressive.

I will go forth and display all my weird quirks for the 3 people that read my blog ;) And I love all your quirks! I would drive you absolutely insane - I'm a very fly by the seat of my pants kind of gal :)
