Her piece was The Rainbow Connection and she played it very well. She had it all memorized, but still took her piano music (which was all crumpled and wrinkled by the way) up with her when it was her turn. She didn't even have to look at it once though, so it was just her security blanket. Gretchen has really enjoyed taking piano. She has a great teacher that makes piano very fun. Her teacher gave all the kids Marvelous Musicians awards at the end of the recital, along with a pack of M&Ms. Gretchen received her award for "Learning a challenging recital song". Gretchen is good at practicing and I'm excited to watch her get better and better.

What a beautiful girl and good for her! Recitals are scary, as I remember! Congrats on having your 1st one behind you... Keep up the good work
Go Gretchen! I wish I would have kept up with my piano, I was a stinker and fought my parents every time they wanted me to practice, eventually they gave up the fight, and I have always regretted not being able to play the piano! So be proud of that girl, and I am sure you are!:)
